Meet Kit Smith
In 2005 I started building guitars and ukuleles in Berkeley, California. Mostly, I would create unusual instruments configured with various vintage and repurposed parts. Since moving to the desert in 2017 I have focused on building cigar box ukuleles and electric guitars with desert symbolism and patina. My goal is always great design, tone and feel. -Kit Smith Desert Homestead Guitars
MEET ANGELA PAU
Angela Pau is a British ex-pat who has lived in NY, LA, and now Joshua Tree. Creativity has always run through her veins and she fell in love with floral design at a young age. Through some serious hard work and fantastic opportunities, floristry took her to NY to design at some of the most exclusive events, homes and hotels. Fast forward to an entirely different life in LA, freelancing and house renovating, Angela started exploring multiple creative outlets including leatherwork, watercolor, dressmaking, weaving and many yarn-based distractions. After making a move to Joshua Tree a couple of years ago her macrame passion developed. Being immersed in desert life and all the colors and textures it offers have been huge inspiration in her current work. She is always open to new creative adventures while embracing the mantra’s “Trust the timing of your life” and “Never stop creating.”
